⚠️ FIXING A HIDDEN FIRE HAZARD BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE! ⚠️
The team here at Mr. T’s Electric just wrapped up an emergency service call in York, PA, that perfectly shows why you should never ignore warning signs. A local homeowner called us because their breaker kept tripping, and a light switch felt physically hot to the touch. When our team opened up the box, we found a disaster waiting to happen: old, improperly connected aluminum wiring had overheated. The insulation had completely disintegrated from intense heat, and the wires inside were entirely burned and charred.
Aluminum expands and contracts, loosening connections and creating massive fire hazards if it isn't treated correctly. To fix this dangerous situation and secure the home, we had to:
Cut back the damaged, charred aluminum wiring.
Fish in clean, safe new copper-transition lines.
Re-terminate the connections using safe, CPSC-approved methods.
If your outlets or switches ever feel warm, smell like burning plastic, or flicker constantly, do not wait! Homes with older aluminum wiring are a major fire risk. Call or text Mr. T’s Electric immediately at (717) 332-5631 to get your system inspected and kept safe!
