Well, Facebook friends, it’s official.

Effective today, 4 Alarm Flooring is CLOSED.

It’s been a fun, rewarding, sometimes challenging, 5 years!

Thank you to EVERYONE who supported this small business. The vast majority of my customers were referrals from friends, family, and established customers. Your faith in me allowed my wife to stay home and raise our kids; something I will be forever grateful for.

I’d like to extend a special “shout out” to Rich and Carey at Floor & Decor in Hilliard. If you are in need of flooring, stop by the pro desk and seek them out. They’re simply the best.

Again…thank you all SO MUCH!

4AF Followers,

Facebook notified me that I haven’t made a post in awhile. This is true! While I never posted several of the more recently installed floors that were completed around the end of 2021, I’ve also taken an extended hiatus to give my body (and mind🤷‍♂️) a chance to heal up. This summer will mark 5 years since 4AlarmFlooring was established. It’s a solo operation that I conduct in addition to my full time job and

Even as I suspend operations, I continue to get 1-2 calls a week from people who have gotten my information from a personal referral. I cannot tell you what that does for me personally, or what that consistent support has meant to my family.

On a side note…several of the phone calls mentioned above are from people looking for the work to be done “soon.” Sometimes that’s the next week, and sometimes that’s in the upcoming days. Typically I am booked at least 3 months out. SO IS EVERYONE ELSE. All contractors I know who are at least halfway decent at their craft are swamped right now and have been for quite some time. If you contact someone who isn’t, there’s probably a reason. Be careful.

Again, thanks for the support and well wishes! When I decide to quit being lazy, I look forward to assisting with the transformation of your home.

4AF is 4 years old and going strong. I haven’t seen it ALL, but I don’t get many first these days…but today was different.

What was slated as an “easy” demo day of removing carpet and tack strips has taken a twist. For THE FIRST TIME EVER, I’ve encountered tack strips that are nailed and set in thin set mortar/glued to the slab.

The 4’ pry bar NORMALLY has tack strips up in no time. TODAY, the work belongs to my new air chisel!

Nice try, Murphy. What else do you have for me?

Just an update on the NuCore tile project.

There’s more scrap involved in this layout vs the “wood floor look,” but those lines are 100% worth it.

Do you like tile but hate grout? I might have the answer.

There’s a credit card commercial on television that asks “what’s in your wallet.”

But what I want to know is “what’s in your carpet?” You can’t always see the stains, allergens, dirt and general evil from the top side…but it’s there.

This Marysville family is breathing easier today after removing the pet stained carpet and installing NuCore Luxury Vinyl Plank (color: Cheyenne).

Isn’t it about time to upgrade your floors?
