We have to rant a bit about the shark bite fitting and handyman pandemic that seems to be getting out of control in our area. we went to a customers house today after another "plumber" (who turned out to not be licensed) to an absolute disaster. Nothing says top-tier craftsmanship quite like reaching for a SharkBite fitting instead of doing the job correctly.

If you’re a plumber or “handyman” who relies on SharkBite fittings regularly, congratulations — you’ve chosen the fast, lazy, and wildly unreliable route and somehow convinced yourself it’s “professional.” It’s not. It’s a shortcut. A very expensive, very temporary shortcut.

SharkBite fittings are the duct tape of plumbing: quick, sloppy, and guaranteed to come back and haunt whoever has to fix it later. They fail, they leak, and they magically disappear the moment accountability is required. But sure — they’re great if your goal is to get paid once and block the customer’s number.

Real plumbing requires skill, planning, and pride in your work. If your entire strategy depends on a push-to-connect fitting and a prayer, maybe the problem isn’t the pipe — it’s the standards.

Do better. Learn the trade. Or at least stop pretending SharkBite fittings are anything more than a temporary crutch for permanent incompetence.

🚫 “Flushable” Wipes Aren’t Really Flushable 🚫

Despite what the packaging says, flushable wipes do NOT break down like toilet paper. Once they’re flushed, they can cause serious problems in your home’s drainage system and the city sewer lines.
