What plant is special to you? Has a story? Makes you happy when you walk past it? I’m sure there are a few but if you were to pick just 1, what would it be?
Here’s my plant. The Monstera Peru. A plant I had not seen in person until 1.5 years ago. Why is it special to me? It symbolizes the end of one stage in life and the beginning of a new stage.
This plant was purchased in Rochester Minnesota. It’s very close to the Mayo Clinic. During one of our visits to my daughter’s surgeon at the Mayo Clinic , we found the most amazing plant store. It’s so pretty inside, has a coffee shop, little gift shop and lots of benches within the greenhouse for relaxing and/or meetings. All of the plants were for sale. It’s just a peaceful little shop we needed during a crazy and intense time. This is where we found the Peru. This is why the Peru is special to me. This last surgery ended 7 years of traveling the country for our girls medical care and it also was when our youngest was told to go and finally live her life. Since my daughter has a lifelong study being done on her, we will have to go back periodically for testing and follow ups. This just gives us the opportunity to go back to a favorite plant store. We head back in a few weeks and I plan on shopping again.
Wouldn’t a store like this be so welcome in Holland/Zeeland? A place for people to go and just sit among the plants. A place for business people to have meetings. A place for moms (or Dads) to sit and talk between picking kids up from school. A place for students to do homework in a relaxing, non school, setting. Horrocks in Kentwood has this now and I just love it. Shop, sit, relax, enjoy the plants, etc. it’s all just dreamy.
What’s the plant that has a story for you?
I attached the store link for anyone curious.
