Some homes are made for gathering - San Lucia makes it effortless.

The kitchen is where everything begins, but it never stays contained. Doors open wide, and the space flows naturally into the outdoor kitchen and courtyard beyond. Cooking becomes something shared, where conversations drift in and out with the breeze and every meal feels a little more connected to the moment.

It’s the kind of place where dinners turn into lingering evenings, where hosting feels easy, and where the best memories are made somewhere between inside and out.

You approach San Lucia from the street, where its quiet, grounded presence feels in step with the surrounding context, yet it reveals little of what’s inside. Instead of opening outward, the home gently pulls you through a threshold and leads you into a calm spaces surrounding an open courtyard at its center. The space feels immediate and grounding, framed by heavy brick walls that rise like steady bookends, while above, long overhangs stretch out to offer shelter and blur inside and out. As you move through the home, natural wood, metal, and brick unfold around you, creating warmth and texture, and everything seems to orbit this inner space. The space where life happens. Coffee in morning light, conversations drift easily between rooms and open air, and evenings shaped around shared meals and warm fires.

Every morning, the family at Dunefalls will wake up to the soft light spilling across the dunes across the channel to Lake Michigan where their home is located. From their L-shaped home, they’ll watch the dune preserve’s grasses sway in the breeze and catch glimpses of the lake sparkling in the distance. The design creates a private retreat where every window frames a story of nature unfolding outside.

Waking up where the horizon meets the heart!

Floor-to-ceiling glass, soft morning light, and the calm rhythm of Lake Michigan just beyond the dunegrass. From bed to shoreline, every detail feels intentional, minimal, modern, and completely at peace. The pier stretching into the water is a daily reminder to slow down and take it all in.

Morning light slips through the tall windows as the house slowly wakes. Coffee steams in the kitchen, dogs and kids run across the grass, and the quiet of the Michigan countryside wraps around the day.

This home was designed for these moments: spaces that feel open yet cozy, where modern simplicity meets the warmth of tradition and old-world character. Afternoons drift between the porch, the lawn, and the barn nearby, while evenings gather everyone back inside as the lights glow softly against stone and wood.

It’s luxurious without trying too hard. Comfortable, textured, and full of life.

At sunrise, the house is quiet- just glass, steel, and sky.

By midday, light pours through every wall, shadows stretching across open spaces designed to breathe with the landscape.

By evening, it becomes a lantern on the horizon- warm, grounded, and completely at home in the landscape.

Architecture that doesn’t compete with nature- it belongs to it.
