Yes, your thermostat may be more advanced these days and can even give you an idea of what might be wrong. And sure, you can plug that information into ChatGPT and get some suggestions.
BUT… if you’re not an HVAC technician, you still don’t know what to test, how to test it, or what those readings actually mean. And if you don’t know what you’re looking for from the start, you can’t accurately diagnose the problem.
Technology can be a great tool, but it doesn’t replace experience, training, and proper testing.
Leave the diagnosis to an actual HVAC tech. Your thermostat or Chatgbt can give you a clue… but it can’t replace a professional diagnosis! 🔧

🌱 SUMMER HVAC TIP!
Cutting the grass? Make sure you’re blowing and mowing away from your outdoor HVAC unit!
Grass clippings and debris can get pulled into the condenser coil, restricting airflow and making your AC work harder.
💧 Another good tip: After mowing, gently rinse the outdoor condenser coil with a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris.

A wire had burnt off the run capacitor, causing the system to stop cooling. The capacitor itself tested good, and once the connection was repaired, the unit came right back on and started cooling again!

Is every home required to have one? No.

Somehow he keeps this place running, fixes the impossible, and somehow always has the answer to every problem. We guess we'll keep him around. 😅
