I had the pleasure of meeting one of Georgia's only well known bonsai artists this weekend.

Alexander Meshki is an incredibly talented bonsai artist who is at the forefront of the burgeoning art in this country and I look forward to helping him make the art take off here in Tbilisi!

It's Spring! A great time to learn how to work with nature to create art don't you think? I offer private classes in which I teach people how to grow and create bonsai trees while showing the various techniques needed to keep these beautiful works of art healthy. In the 2 hour lesson, we will work on a tree together transforming it into a bonsai by shaping, pruning, root pruning and potting the tree into its ornate bonsai pot. At the end of the lesson, this tree will be yours to take home and is included in the price of the lesson. You will then be equipped to create bonsais on your own with the knowledge gained from this lesson so one could see it as an investment for the future. The lessons are done entirely in English. The term wabi sabi is derived from two characters shared by Japanese and Chinese. Originally, wabi 侘 means ‘despondence’ or ‘poverty’, and sabi 寂 means ‘loneliness' or 'solitude'.
