These 4 buildings housing 5 classrooms, a staffroom and a library we powered by solar.
24 LED solar lights (tube style). 13 LED lights ( 4 & single eye). Totalling 37 lights. Approximately 432 watts light load.
Powered by a 200 watts panel. A 20 amps regulator and a 150 amps battery.
Costing around 170,000vt.
It was installed on September last year. It saves the school a lot of desire money. And here's the part I am certianly happy about, it improves academic resultes.

On the first week of November, on God's errant on Emae island I came across a solar system sold for money but not to work as it should. "Man blong hem I glad nomo sent hem ikat wan solar panel, battery, icebox mo wan regulator we I bon nomo taem we you conectem." They burn more than 4 regulators trying to get it to work. Increasing amperage on regulators did nothing to remedied the problem. Interestingly one island electrician direct wired the panels to the batteries the freezer and the regulator were connected parallel. Their problem was they were sold 48 volts solar system. They were using 12\24 volts regulators which could not handle the input voltage. Resulting in burning the regulators and their money.'cos dem regulators don't grow on trees. Also charging the 24volt batteties with 48 volts... Whew! It killed the batteries costing them another 70000 vt. So trust that the informations you get on a solar system are accurate.

I now find that more and more people of Vanuatu are buying and are being sold solar systems more than they need. Costing them unnecessarily. Their problem is "no save solar be wantem solar." Please talk to us and save yourselves some money for Christmas money. There are a lot of solar systems sellers nowadays wanting to make money " so beware nivanuatus least you fall into their traps. Ask yourselves these questions when buying a solar system. Is the seller an electrician or a shop owner or shop keeper or a sales person "only"? How long their experience with their product. How many percent quality is their product. Did it come from a factory. The questions goes on. Make sure you trust the advice you get. Do not spent unnesessaryly.

On the first two weeks of April Timo's solar service had the opportunity to travel the Shepherd islands on God's purpose but then serviced and fixed solar systems on Tongoa, Tongariki, South Epi and Makira. Then Makira and South Epi made orders through our services for perchase and installations of new solar systems. On Sunday the 14th of May on this Kiwi Trader trip, Timo's is traveling to south Epi to install another 600 watts solar system. The system is for a fishing project at Tomali South Epi. The system costs 416,500 vatu including a deep freezer of 600 liters. There are already two system in this area installed by another solar service but are not working as expected. So our aim is to make the others feel no match for the pros.

On July Timo's solar services advised and put bits and pieces together for a solar system that runs a 600 liters deep freezer at Midway shopping at morua, Tongoa island. The system was bought at the price of 1 complete solar set. But with the advantage of doubling the system at the cost of a complete set. Timo's solar services also installed the system. The customer is satisfied. Midway shopping is now serving it's customers with the luxury of cold drinks, ice blocks, ice cream and chicken wings.
