Residio 10 is conceived as a calibrated response to constraints, where a sloping terrain, an irregular plot and strict urban conditions are transformed into a coherent architectural language placed along the street edge.

Situated on a site defined by a visible topographic slope, the project addresses physical and regulatory complexities. The irregular shape resists conventional planning, requiring a careful reinterpretation of spatial organization and volume placement, while urban conditions of extension, access and density shape its footprint and relationship to the street.

A central challenge was reconciling these factors without fragmenting the building’s identity. The slope informs a sensitive integration of mass into the terrain, while irregular boundaries are resolved through a design that absorbs asymmetry. The proximity to the street defines a clear urban presence while maintaining interior spatial quality.

The design emerges from a strategy of extension and adaptation. The building embraces the plot’s irregularities, using the terrain to create a stepped configuration that minimizes excavation and enhances spatial stratification. A key gesture is the alignment along the street, forming a defined urban facade that acts as both boundary and interface.

The form develops through regulated planes and volumes responding to topography and plot limits. Interior spaces cascade to optimize natural light, views and circulation. Materially, a restrained palette emphasizes geometry and massing, while the construction approach follows a clear and sustainable logic aligned with structural and contextual needs.

On March 19th, Maden was part of the Share Albania Forum 2026.

We were honored to be part of this Forum and to represent our studio and project through a distinct presentation of our architectural approach.

This is what defines Maden, what we value at the end of the day: a collaborative process between individuals, evolving into a heartfelt and meaningful project that compromises neither our identity nor the client’s intent.

When these elements merge and transform into something greater, it becomes not only art, but the mathematics of our architecture.

With that being said, this post will show you what words can never say, the process, the merging of our team and how we enjoy every part of each project.

Emerging from the ground as a silent monolith, the house frames the landscape where light, stone, and verticality compose a timeless spatial dialogue.

The house is conceived as a quiet monolithic presence emerging from the ground, where verticality becomes the defining architectural gesture. A composition of distinct volumes rises from the terrain, establishing a clear relationship with the surrounding landscape.

Organized across three levels, the project follows a legible functional hierarchy. The ground floor accommodates the primary living functions living area, kitchen, and social spaces directly connected to the outdoor terrace and landscape.
The first floor is dedicated to the private sleeping areas, where bedrooms are positioned to ensure privacy while maintaining carefully framed views. The basement level contains ancillary and service spaces.

Vertical elements articulate the composition, acting as anchors that emphasize height and a sense of permanence. Stone defines the material expression, grounding the house within its context while reinforcing its monolithic character.

Openings in the façade are conceived as precise architectural frames rather than conventional windows. Carefully proportioned, they capture fragments of the surrounding landscape, transforming them into composed interior views. In this way, nature is perceived as a sequence of curated scenes, allowing interior and exterior to visually merge.

The boundary between inside and outside is softened, enabling light, vegetation, and distant horizons to extend the spatial experience beyond the built form. The presence of surrounding greenery, particularly the tall trees to the east, introduces subtle atmospheric changes throughout the day.

The result is a grounded yet permeable dwelling, where materiality, verticality, and framed views establish a continuous dialogue between architecture and landscape.
