Today we honor the symbol that has draped over generations of sacrifice, resilience, and freedom.

On this Flag Day, we remember that the American flag is more than cloth and color — it represents the men and women who stood watch, answered the call, and carried the weight of service for something greater than themselves.

At Camp Valor Adventure Healing, we proudly stand beside our Veterans, First Responders, and military families who continue fighting battles long after the uniform comes off. The flag reminds us that no one who served should ever fight alone.

To every Veteran, active service member, Gold Star family, and patriot who still stands when the anthem plays — thank you. 🇺🇸

May we never forget the cost of freedom, and may we continue building a nation worthy of the sacrifices made beneath that flag.

🎣 This weekend is Michigan’s Free Fishing Weekend — June 13–14!

It’s a great opportunity to unplug, spend time outdoors, and enjoy everything Pure Michigan has to offer. Michigan residents and visitors can fish all weekend long without needing a fishing license on inland lakes, rivers, and Great Lakes waters. All fishing regulations still apply.

The weekend is also part of Michigan’s “Three Free” Weekend, which includes: • Free fishing
• Free ORV trail access on designated trails
• Free entry into Michigan state parks and boating access sites

At Camp Valor Adventure Healing, we know time outdoors can be more than recreation — it can be therapy, connection, and healing. Whether it’s casting a line with family, spending quiet time in nature, or reconnecting with fellow veterans and friends, weekends like this matter.

Some people say we shouldn’t talk about Veteran su***de.
That it’s too uncomfortable.
That it should stay private.
That acknowledging it somehow gives it more power.

But the reality is this: since 2001, more than 140,000 Veterans have died by su***de and behind every one of those losses is a family forever changed.

Silence does not heal grief.
Silence does not honor the struggle.
And silence certainly does not help the spouses, children, parents, friends, and brothers and sisters left behind trying to carry that loss alone.

At Camp Valor Adventure Healing, we believe honest conversations save lives. We believe we can honor a Veteran’s service, advocate for prevention, and stand beside the families impacted by Veteran su***de all at the same time.

These conversations may be difficult, but ignoring the crisis has never been the answer.

No family should ever feel invisible.

🇺🇸 HONORING OUR HEROES 🇺🇸

Today marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, one of the most pivotal moments in world history.

On June 6, 1944, tens of thousands of Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy under unimaginable conditions to liberate an occupied Europe and defend freedom across the world.

“Thousands of brave Americans advanced into chaos to save civilization,” said U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. “We stand forever grateful for these heroes.”

At Camp Valor Adventure Healing, we pause today to honor the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of the Greatest Generation. Their willingness to run toward danger changed the course of history and preserved the freedoms we continue to enjoy today.

May we never forget the cost of Liberty.
May we continue to live lives worthy of their sacrifice.

🇺🇸 Honor the Fallen.
🇺🇸 Remember the Brave.
🇺🇸 Carry the legacy Forward.

🚨 BREAKING 🚨

Tomorrow, June 4, 2026, at 3:30 PM, the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Ranking Member Congressman Mark Takano and Congressman Raul Ruiz will hold a bipartisan press conference alongside Veteran Service Organizations regarding the .

This legislation would finally end the “wounded warrior tax” — the unfair offset that prevents medically retired combat-disabled veterans from receiving both their full military retirement pay and their full VA disability compensation.

For far too long, wounded veterans have been forced to sacrifice earned retirement benefits because of service-connected injuries sustained while serving this country. That should never have happened in the first place.

Camp Valor Adventure Healing stands with veterans, military families, and VSOs across the nation in supporting the Major Richard Star Act and urges Congress to pass this critical legislation without delay.

America’s wounded warriors earned these benefits through sacrifice, pain, and service. They should receive every dollar they earned.

🟦 June is PTSD Awareness Month 🟦

Not all wounds are visible.

For millions of Americans, and far too many veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors, the battle doesn't end when the deployment, emergency, accident, or crisis is over.

PTSD can affect every part of a person's life.

Sleep becomes difficult.

Relationships become strained.

Anger, anxiety, hypervigilance, isolation, depression, and emotional numbness can quietly take hold.

Many suffer in silence because they believe nobody understands.

But PTSD is not a sign of weakness.

It is a normal response to abnormal experiences.

The reality is this:

Seeking help is strength.

Talking about trauma is strength.

Choosing healing is strength.

At Camp Valor Adventure Healing, we know that recovery doesn't happen through isolation. Healing happens through connection, purpose, community, and belonging.

This PTSD Awareness Month, we encourage you to:

✔️ Check in on a fellow veteran or first responder.
✔️ Reach out if you're struggling.
✔️ Spend time outdoors.
✔️ Connect with people who understand.
✔️ Remember that healing is possible.

You do not have to fight this battle alone.

Every day, veterans and first responders prove that courage isn't the absence of struggle, it's continuing to move forward despite it.

If you're hurting, reach out.

Someone would rather listen to your story today than wonder why they never got the chance.

Your Battle. Our Mission.

The world grows quieter once again as another sacred voice from the Greatest Generation fades into history. 🕊️🇺🇸

Camp Valor Adventure Healing honors the life and legacy of John Kinsel Sr., one of the last surviving Navajo Code Talkers of World War II, who has passed away at 107 years old.

During some of the fiercest battles in the Pacific, including Iwo Jima, John Kinsel Sr. used the Navajo language to transmit coded messages the enemy could never break. Those words became a lifeline for United States Marines fighting through chaos, fear, and war.

He served with quiet courage, humility, and unwavering duty.

Like so many from his generation, he rarely called himself a hero. But history tells a different story.

The Navajo Code Talkers helped change the course of World War II while carrying the weight of sacrifice long after the war ended. Their voices, culture, and courage became one of the most extraordinary stories in American military history.

Now another one of those voices is gone.

Another Marine from the Pacific has slipped into memory.
Another firsthand witness to World War II has fallen silent.

Rest peacefully, Marine.

Your legacy will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Today, Camp Valor Adventure Healing honors the memory of U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Raul Bravo and every service member who gave their life in defense of this nation.

Raul and I served together. Like so many Marines, he carried himself with courage, loyalty, and a willingness to stand beside his brothers no matter the cost. He was taken far too soon, but his memory continues to live on through those who knew him and served beside him.

Memorial Day is not just about remembering names. It is about remembering the people behind them, the laughter, the sacrifice, the friendships, and the empty seats left behind.

Today, we remember Raul.
We remember all of the fallen.
And we carry them with us always.

Semper Fi, Marine.

Today, Camp Valor Adventure Healing honors the memory of Lance Corporal Torrey Gray, United States Marine Corps.

Torrey was not just a Marine. He was our brother. We served together in the same unit during some of the hardest days of the Iraq War, and his courage, loyalty, and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

On April 11, 2004, during combat operations near Fallujah, LCpl Gray gave his life while protecting a fellow Marine under enemy fire. His actions reflected the very best of what it means to wear the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor.

This Memorial Day, we remember Torrey and every service member who never made it home. Their sacrifice was not political. It was personal. It was real. And it is something we carry with us for the rest of our lives.

For those of us who served beside them, Memorial Day is not about a long weekend. It is about faces we still remember, voices we still hear, and brothers and sisters we wish were still here.

At Camp Valor Adventure Healing, Memorial Day is more than a holiday. It is a solemn reminder that freedom has always carried a cost paid for by men and women who never made it home.

Today, we honor those who answered the call, wore the uniform, and gave everything for this country. Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to something greater than themselves continue to inspire our mission every single day.

We remember the fallen.
We stand beside their families.
And we carry their legacy forward through service, healing, and unwavering support for our veteran community.

May we never forget the price that was paid for the freedoms we enjoy today.
