DDay June 6, 1944. We remenber !

Ce matin, la Normandie se réveille une nouvelle fois avec le souvenir d’une journée qui a changé le cours de l’Histoire.

Il y a 82 ans, des milliers de jeunes hommes, souvent à peine plus âgés que nos enfants ou nos petits-enfants, abordaient nos plages sans savoir ce que les heures suivantes leur réserveraient.
Beaucoup ont laissé leur vie sur cette terre normande qu’ils ne connaissaient pas, pour offrir à d’autres la possibilité de vivre libres.

Aujourd’hui, derrière les cérémonies, les drapeaux et les hommages, il y a surtout des visages.
Des destins brisés, des familles qui ont attendu un retour qui n’est jamais venu, des soldats qui ont connu la peur, le courage, l’amitié et parfois le sacrifice ultime.

Il y a aussi nos anciens, ceux qui étaient enfants en 1944, qui se souviennent encore du bruit des avions, des combats, des bombardements, mais aussi de l’immense espoir que représentait l’arrivée des Alliés.

En cette journée si particulière pour notre région, ayons une pensée pour tous ceux qui ont vécu ces heures tragiques et décisives.
Parce que la liberté dont nous bénéficions aujourd’hui a eu un prix immense.

N’oublions jamais leur courage.
N’oublions jamais leur sacrifice.

On a lighter note, let’s take the case of Jason Statham—could he apply for French citizenship with all the contracts he’s been stringing together?

- Truck driver 🚗
- Beekeeper 🐝
- Deep-sea diver 🦈
- Construction worker in A Working Man 🔨

And the list goes on!

Having a series of fixed-term contracts would not be an obstacle to his naturalization application 💼 contrary to popular belief.

The idea is simple: the nature of the contract should not be an obstacle. What matters is proving that the job provides stable and sufficient income over time. It is crucial to demonstrate a successful integration process.

However, for Jason Statham, where things might get tricky is regarding his good character. So it’s not certain he’ll be granted citizenship.

Immigration tip # 1 001 :
Ne ratez JAMAIS une notification de la préfecture.

C’est le chemin le plus rapide…
pour se retrouver sans papiers.

A. est en France depuis des années.
Il renouvelle son titre de séjour.
Dossier déposé.

Tout semble sous contrôle.

Puis arrive une première convocation pour les empreintes.
Il la rate.

Il délègue alors le suivi à son fils.
Quelques semaines plus t**d, une nouvelle notification tombe.
Son fils ne la voit pas.

Résultat ?
La préfecture est claire :
« Après deux rendez-vous manqués, plus de récépissé. »
Par miracle : la préfecture lui laisse une dernière chance.

Et comme souvent…
Jamais deux sans trois.
Le troisième rendez-vous est, lui aussi, raté.

Aujourd’hui, A. n’a plus aucun document de séjour.
Il ne peut plus voyager.
Il est bloqué administrativement, alors que tout avait bien commencé.

La morale ?
En matière d’immigration,
Une notification non lue,
un mail ignoré,
un rendez-vous manqué…
peuvent remettre en cause des années de stabilité en France.
