This was a design and feasibility project. The project entailed the investigation and design for the building of quadripartite ribbed vaulting and arcade posts all in solid Oak. After completing the design we needed to build a scaled model to prove that the joints and loadings could be accomplished. Seen here is a sample of photos from the project progress. Design and modeling were carried out using the same techniques and methods that were used in the middle ages. The large splayed piece of Oak that collects the vaulting ribs and sits atop the arcade post and is called a "Tas-de-Charge". It is formed at the spring of the arch and was mostly always formed in stone (For a very good reason!) © Flaxmill Oak

I absolutely love the hand woven oak panels and these amazing hanging shelves by Flaxmill Oak

They are just simply stunning and really make the view from the botanical booth something special.
