From flat and forgotten to the best seat in the house. 🔥
This little courtyard in Heuwelsig had all the space in the world and nowhere to actually sit. So we gave it a heart.
The boma is the centrepiece — a hexagonal paved circle with the fire bowl at its centre, wrapped in a built-in bench with charcoal tiled capping that seats the whole family without a single chair being dragged around. Behind it, rendered planter boxes and white stone beds soften the boundary wall, with trellis panels for the creepers to climb as they fill in. Stepping stones set into mondo grass lead you off the patio and into the garden, and a string of icicle lights along the wall turns the whole thing on after dark.
The first photo is the 3D we designed for the Stannards back in June. The last one is a Bloemfontein winter evening, fire going, exactly as it was drawn.
That's the part we love most — handing over a space that gets used.
