Progress continues at the Dihlabeng Regional Hospital project.

Block H (Heritage Building) has been carefully refurbished and repurposed. This space will soon accommodate a dedicated Renal Unit alongside essential transport hubs.

Blocks M & N are being developed into a single, extended facility that will deliver significant capacity and care services. Once complete, this block will house 116 beds and include:
- Medical Ward
- Pediatric Ward
- Neonatal Ward
- Maternity Ward
- Helistop

Block O, a new-build component, will support vital diagnostic and blood services, providing facilities for:
- SANBS (South African National Blood Service)
- NHLS (National Health Laboratory Services)

This project reflects a strong commitment to enhancing regional healthcare infrastructure and improving patient outcomes.

Community Strong After the Storm 💙

Following the severe storms that impacted George this past weekend, the Ruwacon team joined forces with Outeniqua Superspar and members of the local community to assist with cleanup operations across affected areas.

From clearing fallen trees and removing debris to helping clean streets and public spaces, it was inspiring to see the George community come together to restore our town after the damage caused by the strong winds.

A sincere thank you to every volunteer, team member, and community partner who contributed their time and effort. Together, we showed what can be achieved when a community stands united.

Proud milestone achieved at the Metro Grounds Housing Project, George (Phase 1 & 2).

We are pleased to announce that all major construction activities have been completed, with the final phases of finishes and handovers successfully delivered to long-awaiting beneficiaries. The project consists of:

Phase 1: 236 housing units
Phase 2: 200 housing units

A total of 436 housing units have now been completed.

This project stands as a strong example of community-driven development and local economic empowerment. Approximately 90% of the work was executed through local SMMEs from George and the surrounding wards, contributing significantly to skills development, job creation, and sustainable economic participation within the region.

The successful implementation of the EPWP programme further enhanced employment opportunities and compliance reporting throughout the duration of the project. In addition, the majority of construction materials were procured from suppliers within the Southern Cape, reinforcing support for local industry and businesses.

Proudly completed: External Bulk Services for The Juliana Lifestyle Centre 🚧👏

This project involved the successful delivery of key civil infrastructure works, including:

851m of stormwater reticulation
4 776m² of surfaced roads with associated layer works
1 885m of sewer reticulation
420m of water reticulation

The upgrade of Bambisana District Hospital in Lusikisiki is making strong progress, with Phase 1, Section 2 – the construction of the main hospital complex and staff accommodation – nearing completion.
