During the winter months, it is important to stick to the basics :

🌱Watering
🌱Fertilizing

M O W I N G

Do not mow before expected frost.
For more shelter, leave the grass blade a little bit longer. This can be done by setting the mower up.

W A T E R I N G

You may think that frost moisturises your lawn, but it actually dries it out. It is important to still water your lawn regularly during the winter months. Instead of watering at night, rather water during the day.

F E R T I L I Z I N G

Focus on healthy root growth during the winter months. Fertilize your lawn with a fertilizer that is high in Phosphates.

In colder regions, Kikuyu grass may go dormant (turn brown) when exposed to frost. This is perfectly normal and not a cause for concern.

Tip : Avoid heavy traffic on your Kikuyu lawn during dormancy.
