Customers whirlpool bath / hot tub motor was not working . I removed the motor and took it home to fault find or to do a inspection as to what the fault may be on the electric water pump. I stripped it almost entirely and reassemble the pump again . With the use of a multi meter , when opening the electric wire box module. Where the over load switch and capacitor is situated. I ended up finding the fault which was causing the motor not to run. The motor would go on with a humming noise but would not run by passing water through. The capacitor had blown. Which in this case serves as a running starter. I removed it and purchased a capacitor of the same description and installed a new one. The trick was testing the pump. Cause you have to prime the pump first. Meaning it has to have water in the motor. A water pump must never run dry. After having built a temp water supplying container with necessary pipes to connect to the pump to primer and feed water . So i could test it before installing it back by the customer. Worked immediately once id swithced it on. Went an installed it and tested it .video clip displays the outcome. Was able to save tge customer a lot of money. Instead of replacing the motor which would have been costly.
