Overnight thunder and rain and this morning the rain gauge had 6mm in it. Yay!! My garden says yay too πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

I harvested the tromboncino squash today. This one was the longest of the three, measuring 94cm and weighing 3.320 kg!

The other smaller ones brought the total weight to 7.5kg. Not bad for my first attempt at growing them πŸ€—

I'm delighted to see the cranberry hibiscus sarted flowering this week 🌸

The blooms only last a day but they sure are gorgeous 🀩

It is also known as an African rosemallow or false roselle. My plant is the red leaved variety. I knew one could make a herbal tea with the spent flowers but never knew the leaves are edible too. These will make an interesting addition to salads. I read one should use them sparingly as they are quite acidic.

As soon as these little nectarines formed, I covered them with organza bags so they were out of reach of the nasties.

It was only a small harvest this year but I'm super chuffed. πŸ€— Note to self - read up more about the correct way to prune a fruit tree πŸ€£πŸ™ˆ
