I can add a new skill to my list - venetian blinds.

Have found a supplier for the ladder strings and lift cords and I can replace them. Takes a fair amount of time but much cheaper than following the recommended advice of replacing them.

I have had some fun repairing a petrol mower. Dirt in the carburettor and a messed up control linkage.

But the hard work was cutting my lawn to make sure it all worked!!

Also repaired a small generator a while ago - leaking oil seals.

Spent a pleasant day replacing a 100m CCTV cable. Very happy to say it works.

After carefully inspecting the old cable I cannot find a visible fault but it is open-circuit - both video and power.

Now I just need to replace the HDD in the recorder. And add an ethernet cable so the cameras are visible on the internet.

Not too old to learn new tricks!

A little IT project for a client who has a 10 year old laptop. The local PC shop could not make additional RAM work and Windows 10 took forever to do nothing.
