The finishing touch 👌

Rolling the lawn helps create a smooth, even surface and ensures good root contact with the soil. Another beautiful installation by Evangrass.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT BUFFALO TURF 🌱

• Buffalo grass is indigenous to many of South Africa’s coastal areas, making it a great fit for KZN conditions.

• It’s known for its broad, coarse leaf and deep green colour, giving gardens a lush “estate-style” look.

• Buffalo is one of the more drought-tolerant lawn varieties and generally needs less water than Kikuyu.

• Because it grows slower than many other lawn types, it needs less mowing — a big plus for low-maintenance gardens.

• Buffalo performs surprisingly well in semi-shade compared to many sun-loving grasses.

• It spreads through surface runners called stolons, helping it repair itself over time.

• Many game lodges and coastal resorts prefer Buffalo because it handles wear and recovers well after foot traffic and animals.

• Buffalo is less invasive around flower beds and paving than aggressive grasses like Kikuyu.

• It’s excellent for erosion control thanks to its dense growth and strong root system.

• Buffalo lawns should never be cut too short — they look best when kept slightly longer and lush.

• Instant Buffalo lawn gives an “instant garden transformation” effect because it arrives already established as turf rolls.

• In warm coastal climates like Durban and the KZN North Coast, Buffalo can stay green nearly all year round.

There’s something so wholesome about starting the day with a quiet walk through the garden 🌿
The fresh morning air, the sound of the birds, the dew on the grass… nature has a way of slowing us down and reminding us to appreciate the simple things.

A beautiful lawn starts with regular mowing 🌱✨

To keep your lawn looking thick, lush, and green, mow at least once a week — and in summer, especially with Kikuyu grass, you may even need to mow twice a week.

Keep your mower on a higher setting so the stolons aren’t exposed and stressed. Regular mowing encourages the grass to thicken up, spread beautifully, and stay healthy all season long 💚

A little consistency goes a long way to achieving that carpet-like lawn ✂️🌿

Watering your lawn after planting is EVERYTHING 💧🌱

For the first 2 weeks:
Daily watering (morning & evening if it’s hot ☀️🔥)

After that:
3 times a week until fully established

Skip the water and your grass WILL show it… yellow, stressed, and even dying 😬

Consistency = that lush green lawn you’re after 💚
