ADP Construction is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Kommetjie, Cape Town.
This full time role is ideal for a motivated and detail oriented candidate who is eager to grow within the construction industry. The successful candidate will assist with project estimating, procurement, and cost management across a range of construction projects, working closely with the director, technical engineer, business manager, and project teams.
Key responsibilities include
• Measuring quantities from approved client drawings
• Assisting with detailed cost estimations for construction projects
• Supporting the development of project budgets and monitoring project expenditure
• Assisting with scope of work outlines and payment schedules
• Obtaining supplier pricing and supporting procurement of materials and supplies
• Assisting with project cost control and risk management
• Conducting site visits to monitor workmanship, quality and compliance with specifications
• Maintaining accurate and organised project documentation
• Assisting with cost reporting and providing cost information to the director where required
• Supporting project teams with cost advice and general project administration
• Assisting with site based project management when required
Requirements
• Degree or B-Tech in Quantity Surveying or related field
• Professional membership with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) or eligibility to register
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Good overall computer literacy including email and Google Docs
• Knowledge of South African construction regulations and standards
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure
• Proactive and solution driven mindset
