They say “the client is always right” — but in reality, that’s not always true. Let me share a recent example:

Yesterday, a client phoned for a quote. I gave him the price, and he asked for a booking today at 15h30. I said yes, but explained clearly that I cannot hold a booking on a “maybe”. He promised to confirm in the morning.

This morning, he called — but by then the slot was already taken. He accused me of bad service, threatened to report me online, and even had his mother call me to demand why I “cancelled” his booking. The truth is simple: we work on confirmed bookings, not tentative ones.

👉 Lesson: In small businesses, time slots are valuable. If you don’t confirm, someone else will take the space. That’s not bad service — that’s fair practice.

So who was wrong here? Definitely not me. And after all that drama, would I really want to do work for them? The answer is a clear no.
