🚨 “𝑨𝑵𝑶𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑹 ‘𝑸𝑼𝑰𝑪𝑲 𝑬𝑺𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑬’ 𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑻 𝑬𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑫 𝑬𝑿𝑨𝑪𝑻𝑳𝒀 𝑯𝑶𝑾 𝒀𝑶𝑼’𝑫 𝑬𝑿𝑷𝑬𝑪𝑻…” 🚨

At approximately 23:00 on 19 May 2026, while conducting patrols in Malgas Street, Southfield, alongside SAPS, SecuWatch members observed a Toyota Corolla whose occupants suddenly became very interested in leaving the area the moment SecuWatch and SAPS vehicles were spotted.

Apparently, somebody thought speeding up, skipping a stop street, and attempting to flee was going to end well. Bold move. Wrong area.

Due to the suspicious behaviour and traffic offence committed, a tactical pursuit was initiated. The vehicle was successfully intercepted by SAPS with the assistance of SecuWatch on Flintdale Road, where the occupants were stopped by members on scene.

During a lawful search of the vehicle, approximately 17 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐢𝐤 (18 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 6 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐱 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝, concealed inside red condoms. Because apparently that was the hiding plan of the evening. 🙃

It’s always fascinating how criminals suddenly become Formula 1 drivers the moment they see patrol vehicles, only to act surprised when the trip ends in flashing lights and handcuffs.

🚨⛽ 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧… 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟐 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝

At approximately 15:05, Secuwatch received information that a familiar face, previously arrested by Secuwatch for petrol theft, had allegedly decided to revisit old habits.

This time, approximately R800 worth of petrol was reportedly stolen from Engen Meadowridge. Unfortunately for him, technology and teamwork were already clocking in for duty 👀

At approximately 16:25, the Plumstead Neighbourhood Watch ANPR cameras gave us a nice little heads-up after the suspect vehicle entered the Plumstead area. SAPS and surrounding SSPs were immediately informed, and Secuwatch members began searching.

At approximately 16:40, the vehicle was located in Churchill Road. While keeping a close eye on the vehicle, role players coordinated a strategic plan because… well… running only works if nobody is watching 😏

At approximately 16:44, the vehicle was successfully boxed in by Secuwatch and SRU Security. Within minutes, VD36 arrived on scene and the suspect was loaded up for an unexpected change of scenery 🚔

The suspect and vehicle were positively identified and escorted to Diep River SAPS, where charges relating to the theft of petrol followed.

🚨 𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐘 🚨

On 17 May 2026, SecuWatch Protection Services received intel regarding a known active gang member allegedly on the run and apparently under the impression that Plumstead would make a good hiding place. Interesting choice. 🤔

Our member immediately acted on the information and successfully located the individual at the well-known “Broken Palace” because of course that’s where he would be.

After a brief interview and profiling process, the individual was politely but firmly advised that his presence in Plumstead was not welcomed and that he should disappear from the area immediately.

Unfortunately, criminals sometimes mistake kindness for weakness.

The very next day, 18 May 2026, a photo of the same individual began circulating on crime groups. It was then confirmed that he was wanted in connection with a Mosque break-in in the Steenberg area.

Later that evening, SecuWatch decided to pay him another visit, this time with a little more purpose.

With information received, the suspect was detained by SecuWatch members while assistance was requested. Law Enforcement officers responded swiftly and transported the suspect to Diep River Police Station pending confirmation from Muizenberg Police Station.

Confirmation was received, and the suspect was officially arrested for Housebreaking and Theft.

This past weekend, SecuWatch Protection Services, together with Diep River SAPS and Law Enforcement, conducted multiple intelligence-driven, disruption-focused operations across Plumstead and Southfield, targeting exactly the kind of criminal activity that tends to think it can operate unnoticed.

We don’t react. We identify, track, and disrupt.

🔎 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘-𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗡 𝗗𝗥𝗨𝗚 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡….𝗣𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗗

Acting on verified intelligence, members placed a suspect under surveillance for drug distribution. It didn’t take long before an active transaction was observed on Plumstead Main Road.

The suspect was contained on the spot.

Search results included:
• Significant quantities of cash
• Drug-related paraphernalia linked to distribution

Follow-up at the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of:
• ±25.77g of crystal methamphetamine (tik)
• Additional cash (R4,210)

➡️ One suspect arrested for possession and dealing in narcotics
➡️ Processed at Diep River SAPS

Another operation disrupted before it could continue feeding the streets.

At approximately 22:04 on 4 May 2026, intelligence came through regarding a vehicle linked to a series of petrol theft incidents.

Using ANPR technology, the vehicle was quickly picked up, tracked, and quietly monitored.

It didn’t get far.

With the assistance of Diep River SAPS, the suspect was boxed in and apprehended.

Search of the vehicle revealed:
• Tik
• Mandrax

➡️ Suspect arrested for possession of drugs
➡️ Vehicle seized and now tied into an ongoing petrol theft investigation

The suspect is believed to be linked to multiple cases across:
• Goodwood
• Lansdowne
• Woodstock
• Athlone

𝗘𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱. 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻.

At 15:28 on 15 April 2026, an alert came through, an elderly gentleman had left his residence in Plumstead earlier in the day and had not returned home. Concern was rapidly escalating.

𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲.

We made contact with family members to establish his routine movements and gathered critical information. With his vehicle registration confirmed, it was circulated to CVIC and Plumstead Neighbourhood Watch to run through ANPR networks within our operational grid.

The first confirmed sighting placed him heading toward Tokai at around 12:00, and then nothing.

𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲, 𝐰𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

The vehicle details were shared across additional security structures. A new ANPR hit came through Maitland at approximately 16:20. SecuWatch unit immediately mobilised and began searching the area, but the vehicle had already moved on.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡.

𝐀𝐍𝐏𝐑 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬.

This information was immediately shared with Table View Neighbourhood Watch, who activated without delay. As coordination intensified, multiple ANPR triggers began confirming movement between:

At this stage, it became clear, the gentleman was disoriented and lost.

The search escalated further, with multiple SSPs including SecuWatch, Bothasig Neighbourhood watch, Edgemead Neighbourhood watch and Burgendy Estate Neighbourhood watch members joining the operation and searched the areas.

A vigilant neighbourhood watch member in Bothasig eventually spotted the vehicle and maintained visual contact, providing live updates to Precinct Armed Response.

Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was safely brought to a stop at a nearby garage.

The gentleman was found safe and unharmed, just confused and lost.

He was assisted on scene, offered refreshments, and his family was contacted to collect him and ensure his safe return home.

This is what happens when technology, coordination, and community come together with purpose.
