Full external restoration of St Mary’s Cathedral in the Cape Town City Bowl. The cathedral was consecrated in 1850 and is the oldest Catholic cathedral in the country. Krause Painting and Restoration is currently undertaking extensive repairs and refurbishments to the cathedral.

The works comprise of structural repairs, plaster repairs, waterproofing, new roofing and a full external redecoration.

High quality materials, specifically for heritage buildings, have been specified on this restoration project, the materials have been imported from Germany.

We are proud to be part of this project and are looking forward to the end product.

Krause Painting and Restoration recently undertook the restoration of the Time Ball Tower at the V&A Waterfront. This maritime signaling device was built in 1894 and is now obsolete. KPR undertook a full restoration of the tower, and it is once again in full working order. We are privileged to have been part of this project and are thankful to have been entrusted to restore this historic landmark.

Krause Painting and Restoration was recently involved in the restoration of the Sea Point Geological Memorial.
This site is famous for its historical significance, particularly due to Charles Darwin’s visit in 1836.

The site demonstrates how hot granite magma intruded sedimentary rocks and changed their appearance.
There also happens to be a fun left hand surf break right in front of this spot.

The works consisted of extensive concrete repairs, the application of a specialist coating to help protect the concrete and reduce concrete degradation in the future. Once all the repairs and new coatings had been applied, new ceramic information plaques were installed along with the heritage Western Cape plaque.

The KPR team carried out great work and we are proud to have been part the upgrades to this beautiful public space.

The Krause Painting and Restoration team recently carried out a full asbestos roof removal and installation of a new clip lock roofing system at the waterfront.

The roofing works were carried out by specially trained Krause operatives, over a two-day period, under the strict observation of an independent Asbestos Inspection Authority. The new roof is now installed, and the building is ready for another wet and stormy Cape Town winter.

Other works on this project included the following:
*Concrete and plaster repairs
*Timber window repairs and servicing
*Full external redecoration with a high-quality paint system

Well done team, the building is looking great.

Heritage House in the Southern Suburbs, built in 1860. KPR carried out a full external refurbishment to this gorgeous home. The works comprised of the following:
- Extensive timber repairs
- Plaster and concrete repairs
- Joint sealing
- New, high quality paint system
The house is looking beautiful, well done Team!

Facelift for an office complex in Durbanville. All facades are being cleaned with specialist cleaning agents and high pressure washed. All joints are being raked out and resealed with high quality sealant. The buildings are looking like new, well done Team!

Full external and internal redecoration and structural repairs. The building was constructed in the early 1930's and was originally designed as a hotel. Bertha House now houses the Bertha Foundation in Cape Town. Our team is in the process of carefully restoring and redecorating this heritage building with an exciting new colour scheme to keep Bertha House a landmark in the area.
Well done team! We look forward to the finished product.

Full external and internal refurbishment to these offices and laboratories in Cape Town. The team is in the process of waterproofing, replacing aluminium windows, carrying out structural repairs and painting. The building will be watertight and looking good for the approaching Winter season.
