Fitting of flat roof and chimney detail
A&A National Roofing and Waterproofing recently installed a new flat roof using IBR profile Colourbond roof sheets.
First we removed the old roofing to expose the roof timbers. We then installed insulation which acts as a vapour barrier and as insulation.
We install the IBR profile Colourbond roof sheets and the Colourbond flashings before waterproofing the parapet walls.
Shown in the picture is the detail around the chimney. It is important to ensure the water is able to run around the chimney which is achieved by fitting a soaker.
This installation will keep this roof leak free for many years. Remember winter is coming so please do your waterproofing now.

Project to Waterproof Internal Gutters of Factory Unit's

Waterproofing contractors in Cape Town

Many internal gutters develop leaks, the metal rusts due to water not being able to drain away. In a very many cases gutters become unofficial gardens as seen in the photo below. This is why we recommend regular gutter cleaning to ensure that gutters remain clean.

To replace an internal gutter would require the roof sheets being removed which generally will mean new roof sheets and gutters.

A&A National Roofing and Waterproofing will waterproof your gutters using a heat fused membrane. This can be done whilst the gutters are in place which means the roof sheets do not need to be removed giving a substantial cost saving. We will guarantee our works for three years or longer if you maintain your gutters properly.

The gutters are cleaned and then primed to accept the waterproofing membrane

The gutters are then waterproofed using a heat fused membrane. This material is bonded to the gutter using heat. (Photo showing gutter prepared and waterproofed)

Add Protective Paint to the waterproofing

We then paint the waterproofing using a silver paint. This needs to be carried out regularly to keep the waterproofing in good condition (The paint protects the waterproofing from harsh sunlight)

A&A National Roofing and Waterproofing carried out an installation of a roof in Cape Town. To give light but retain rigidity we installed a polycarb roof sheet and colourbond roof sheet.

We removed the old roof timber and installed a new SA pine structure. This was painted to match the current interior

New roof installation with over Purlin insulation.

A&A National Roofing and Waterproofing were asked to install a new roof installation in Cape Town.

The first stage was to remove the existing corrugated roof sheets and the old insulation.

We checked and replaced damaged purlins before installing insulation.

Waterproofing of parapet walls and internal gutters
One of A&A National Roofing and Waterproofing latest project we were required to waterproof a deck, install a new skylight, waterproof parapet walls and internal gutter.
The existing waterproofing was clearly in need of work

A&A National’s solution was to remove the existing waterproofing and apply a 4mm heat fused membrane. A counter flashing is added to ensure that the waterproofing remains ingress free. This is then coated with a silver paint to protect the waterproofing from the sun.
The old skylight was in very bad condition.
A&A National’s solution was to renew the waterproofing on the deck and supply and fit a new skylight.
The old waterproofing was lifted exposing the deck. New 4mm heat fused membrane was added and again covered with a protective paint.
A new skylight was fitted with waterproofing around the skylight.
