COMMON CAUSE OF THE POWER TRIPPING

This week we have been called out for power tripping , we have came out to bring to out client before to call out the experienced electrician to have idea of what may cause possibly if you can save some money resolve it if you can !

Here are list some cause generally :
1. Overloaded Circuit
• When too many appliances or devices are connected to one circuit.
• Example: Using a heater, kettle, and microwave on the same plug line.
• Fix: Unplug some devices or distribute them across different circuits, install extra circuit if that may be possible
2. Faulty Appliances
• A damaged appliance (like an iron, kettle, or fridge) can cause short circuits.
• Fix: Unplug everything, then plug them in one by one to find the faulty item.
3. Short Circuit
• Happens when a live wire touches a neutral or earth wire, creating a surge.
• Fix: Needs an electrician to trace and repair wiring or connections.
4. Earth Leakage / Moisture
• Caused by current leaking to the ground, often due to water in sockets, cables, or outdoor lights.
• Fix: Dry the area, and check waterproofing and insulation.
5. Faulty Wiring or old wiring
• Old or damaged wires can cause over amperage and trip the breaker.
• Fix: Have wiring inspected by a qualified electrician.
6. Defective Circuit Breaker or Earth Leakage Unit
• Sometimes the breaker itself is worn out or too sensitive.
• Fix: Replace the breaker if it keeps tripping for no valid reason.
