The Java captures the romance of canvas living with a refined, timeless sensibility, finished with timber outriggers that frame the entrance.

That outer layer on many of our suites? It is the shade net flysheet, and it works hard.

• It shades the roof, helping to keep interiors more comfortable in the heat of the day
• It shields the waterproof PVC flysheet beneath from direct sun
• It softens the silhouette so the structure sits quietly in its landscape

Because it takes the most exposure, the shade fly is designed to be the first component replaced, protecting everything underneath.

Why ripstop?

Look closely at our canvas and you will see a fine grid. Those thicker threads are the reinforcement: if the fabric is ever snagged, the tear stops at the next line instead of running.

Compared with traditional cotton canvas, ripstop is stronger for its weight, dries faster and is easier to transport to remote places. Every Bushtec pre-engineered suite uses 550gsm ripstop canvas, fire-retardant to CPSIA 84 and NFPA 701 standards.

The Jama's octagonal form opens the suite to near-panoramic views, so the landscape becomes the main feature of the room.
