*ATM Scam Suspects Arrested in Glenwood*🦅

Summary of Events:
On Tuesday, 26 May 2026, *Homeland Security SA* received a report from a Manor Gardens resident who had fallen victim to an ATM scam at a well-known shopping centre in the Glenwood area, suffering a loss of approximately R30,000.

*Homeland Security members* assisted the victim and, through cooperation with the shopping centre management, obtained and reviewed CCTV footage. The footage enabled members to clearly identify two suspects, as well as their getaway vehicle, a gold VW Polo sedan (Reg: # # # # # # #).

*Homeland Security* further assisted the complainant in opening a case at Umbilo SAPS (CAS 409/05/26), and the vehicle details were circulated to operational members.

On Saturday, *Homeland Security* received an alert that the same suspect vehicle had entered the Glenwood UIP Precinct.

Tactical members immediately began searching for the vehicle and successfully located it parked along Helen Joseph Road.

Additional units were dispatched, and the vehicle was surrounded. Two suspects were apprehended without incident.

The suspects, together with the vehicle, were escorted to Umbilo SAPS, where they were formally arrested and charged in connection with the ATM scam investigation.

*Stolen Truck Recovered After Extended Search*🦅

On 16 May 2026, *Homeland Security TRT* and *Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT* received an urgent alert via the *BSURF Community Group* regarding a Mitsubishi truck (Reg: CS######) that had just been stolen from Garner’s Lane within the Glenwood UIP area.

*Homeland Security Reaction Units* were immediately dispatched and responded to location updates received from the vehicle’s tracking company, which led members to KwaMashu J Section. Upon arrival, only the vehicle’s tracking unit was recovered.

Despite this setback, *Homeland Security* members continued searching known hotspot areas and remained committed to locating the stolen vehicle.

*Their persistence paid off.*

After an extended search, members successfully located the stolen truck abandoned just off Nogwaaja Road in the Ntuzuma B area.

All necessary procedures were completed, and the owner was safely reunited with the vehicle.

Robbery Suspects Apprehended After Joint Intelligence Operation

Summary of Events:
At approximately 17:40, Homeland Security SA and Patron Shield received a report from a Geckoland watchman regarding a robbery on JB Marks Road.

Response units from Homeland Security, Patron Shield, and supporting role players were immediately dispatched.

Thanks to the video surveillance systems operated by GeckoLand Security, and the PVUIP Intelgence CCTV network it was established that the suspects were travelling in a white Ford sedan after robbing a victim of their cellphone before fleeing the scene.

Through live tracking of the stolen cellphone, the Homeland Security Control Room provided continuous real-time updates to responding teams, while units coordinated a pursuit through multiple areas.

Tracking information and ongoing intelligence eventually led operational members to the Mayville area, where the suspects’ movements were closely monitored.

Through a successful joint operation Patron Shield Security and Homeland Security SA apprehended the two suspects

Further investigation later revealed that another victim had also been robbed in the Mazisi Kunene area, and that victim’s cellphone was likewise recovered inside the suspects’ motor vehicle. And intel from Fitama Protection Services says the vehicle is allegedly linked to multiple robberies and home invasions across the Glenwood, Umbilo, and Bluff areas .
The suspects, together with the vehicle and recovered items, were handed over to Mayville SAPS for further investigation and processing.

This successful operation highlights the importance of intelligence-driven operations, surveillance technology, real-time tracking, and strong cooperation between private security role players in combating crime and protecting the community.

*Vehicle Break-In Suspect Apprehended*

On 10 May 2026, at approximately 19:00, the *Homeland Security SA Control Room* received a report of a suspect who had broken into a vehicle on Lena Ahrens Road in Glenwood.

*Homeland Security members* immediately responded to the scene, and CCTV footage of the suspect was obtained and circulated to all operational units.

Later that evening, while conducting patrols in the Lena Ahrens area, *Homeland Security TRT Reaction officers* observed a male matching the circulated description, particularly the distinctive green shoes and black pants seen in the footage.

*Homeland Security Glenwood UIP* and additional response units were immediately notified. Through a coordinated team effort, members successfully apprehended the suspect.

During the arrest, items stolen from the complainant’s Kia Picanto during the vehicle break-in were recovered in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to Umbilo SAPS for further investigation and processing.

Summary of Events:🦅

At approximately 12:30, the *Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT* was conducting routine patrols along Helen Joseph Road when members noticed an open manhole.
Upon closer inspection, a male suspect was found inside the manhole actively cutting cables, causing damage to critical infrastructure.

Backup was immediately requested, and the suspect was detained on scene without incident.

Umbilo SAPS and the Telkom Cable Theft Unit were notified and responded accordingly. Upon arrival, the suspect was handed over to SAPS for further investigation.
