Upgrade of the Mchubakazi internal streets.

We are making good progress on the upgrade of gravel roads to paved roads.

Scope of works overview: excavation, earthworks, preparation of the roadbed, sub-base and base works, kerbing and channelling, laying of storm water pipes, inlet and outlet structure, and concrete paving.

Repairs on Dannhauser Community Health Centre.

This unusual project is a true embodiment of HSC Consulting's innovative approach to problem-solving, technical prowess and cost-effectiveness.

Dannhauser Community Health Centre is a small regional hospital servicing the local community in Dannhauser, KZN, South Africa.

The issue arose from the fact that the buildings were constructed on a 2-metre layer of clay, prone to shifting with varying weather conditions. This movement resulted in significant structural damage to the buildings, rendering certain areas of the centre unsafe for further use.

After engaging a number of different parties in an attempt to find a solution, the Department of Health appointed HSC Consulting to do an inspection, write a report and propose repair solutions.

The solution: HSC Consulting gave a cost-effective repair plan which not only addressed the issue but also enabled the clinic to remain operational throughout the construction period. Modifications were made to the building to facilitate movement without sustaining damage, and the use of vapour barriers helped stabilise the moisture content beneath the structure, thereby reducing the building's movement.

The repairs began in August 2022 and reaching completion.

Upgrade of Khayelithsa Internal Streets NU5, Mdantsane to surfaced standards and storm water drainage.

The scope of works for the civil engineering works:
- Relocation of existing 39 shacks, including levelling of relocation site, provision of temporary basic services (water & sanitation)
- Clearing and grubbing
- Construction of pavement layers up to base level and surfacing
- Stormwater drainage system

We are proud to be involved in this project, which will uplift the community and improve access.

Great progress on the Incubator Hub for emerging manufacturers at the East London IDZ.

Work on the warehouse is ongoing, and we are now extending it to add another unit.

The building uses precast walling panels, allowing the plinth walls to be built quickly while maintaining excellent quality.
