The home is carefully positioned on the southwest corner of the site, allowing for expansive landscaped gardens across the northeast. Its elongated form follows an east-to-west axis, ensuring that all primary living spaces are gracefully oriented toward the north, where natural light and warmth are most abundant.

Set on a gently sloping site in Mooikloof Glen, this 937m² residence is composed in steel, glass and concrete, opening itself to northern views while establishing a bold architectural presence from the street.

Arrival is carefully choreographed along a long exposed aggregate driveway, guided by an extended black wing wall towards the southern entrance. This sequence culminates in a double-volume glazed hall, where views extend through the home, across the central atrium and outward to the lanai, infinity pool and landscape beyond.

Sandton Residence

Sandton Residence is a 1400 sq.m. 3-storey residence located on a fairly sloped 4100 sq.m. site overlooking Johannesburg East. The design was conceptualised as stacked and intersecting perforated ‘boxes’, which rest on top of each other and intersect with monolithic concrete-clad walls. The architectural material palette reflects this monolithic language through the use of dark grey aluminium perforated screens and concrete panels that adorn the majority of the architectural feature walls.
