🌳 When you see a strong tree, you admire its branches and leaves. But what keeps it standing is the part nobody sees—its roots.

As electricians, we know that what happens behind the finished installation matters. Neat fittings mean little if the connections underneath are poor. ⚡🛠️

Our faith needs that same care beneath the surface. Prayer, God’s Word and daily decisions to live with integrity help us stay firmly rooted in Christ. 🙏📖

Challenges WILL come. A difficult customer, financial pressure, setbacks at work or struggles at home can test us. What are your roots holding onto when the storm arrives? 🌧️🌳

Colossians 2:6–7 encourages us to remain rooted and built up in Christ. This week, let’s give attention to the hidden growth that keeps us standing. 💚

⚡ MONDAY INSPIRATION – FAITH REQUIRES ACTION! 🙏

“Faith without works is dead.” – James 2:26

God is our Provider, but that doesn't mean we can sit under a tree and wait for everything to happen!

🔧 As electricians, we know that no installation gets completed until someone picks up the tools and starts working.

The same applies to our faith!

🙏 We pray for opportunities, but are we taking action?

🙏 We pray for success, but are we putting in the effort?

🙏 We ask God to open doors, but are we willing to walk through them?

Faith is not waiting until you can see the entire journey. Faith is trusting God enough to take the FIRST STEP!

You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you can do something TODAY.

💡 BRING WHAT YOU HAVE. DO WHAT YOU CAN. TRUST GOD WITH WHAT YOU CANNOT!

This week, stop waiting for everything to be perfect. Get up, take action and move forward in faith!

📢 GOOD NEWS FOR SOLAR OWNERS IN SOUTH AFRICA! ☀️⚡
Eskom has confirmed that solar registration-related charges for eligible systems up to 50 kVA have been waived until further notice.
That is a welcome development for homeowners who have already invested heavily in solar and battery systems — but there is one very important point to understand:
The charges have been dropped. The registration requirement has not necessarily disappeared.
OUTA has welcomed the move, while also raising the bigger question around whether compliant, non-exporting residential solar systems should be subjected to the same registration process as systems that actually feed electricity back into the grid.
At Nearby Electrician, we believe the way forward should be:
✅ Less unnecessary red tape
✅ Clearer rules for consumers
✅ Proper distinction between exporting and non-exporting systems
✅ Strong electrical safety and compliance
✅ Registered electrical contractors doing the work correctly
And remember — Eskom requirements do not automatically apply to every municipality, as municipal SSEG rules may differ.
This is a positive step, but the solar registration discussion is definitely not over.

⚡ Do you know your gift — and are you using it?

Romans 12:6–8 reminds us that God has given each of us different gifts: serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, showing mercy and more.

Just like every tool in an electrician’s toolbox has a specific purpose, every person has something they can use to make a difference in someone else’s life.

The question is not only:

“What is my gift?”

But also:

“Who am I serving with the gift God gave me?”

Maybe your gift is teaching the apprentice beside you.
Maybe it is encouraging someone who is under pressure.
Maybe it is leading well, helping quietly, sharing knowledge or simply being there when someone needs support.

A tool that stays in the toolbox cannot do its job.

Neither can a gift that is never used.

What has God placed in me — and who can I serve with it?
