Glass windows on electrical enclosures aren’t just about visibility, they require proper engineering to remain safe, strong, and compliant.
Here are a few key considerations behind a correct glass fitment:

1. Structural integrity
Cutting a window into a door removes material and reduces its natural strength. To compensate, door stabilisers are essential to maintain rigidity, alignment, and long-term performance.

2. Maintaining the IP rating
A window opening introduces a potential ingress point. Correct gasket selection and installation around the glass ensures the enclosure continues to meet its required IP rating.

3. Glass type matters
Industrial enclosures require shatterproof / toughened safety glass, designed to withstand vibration, impact, and thermal stress while ensuring operator safety.

4. Sealing and fixing method
The glass must be properly seated and secured to prevent movement, air gaps, or seal degradation over time - especially in outdoor or high-vibration environments.
Visibility is useful. Protection is non-negotiable. Engineering makes the difference.

Another powerful tool behind our manufacturing process, the HSG 12 kW Fibre Laser at Electro Enclosures. This high-performance laser allows us to cut sheet metal over a a large cutting area of 3000 mm x 1500 mm, giving us the capacity to handle large panels and complex designs with ease and exceptional speed and precision, supporting the quality and accuracy required in our enclosure manufacturing and sheet metal fabrication.

This B26 Orange MCC is configured into three vertical sections, and it is engineered to retain the required IP rating for demanding industrial environments.
• All door components are mounted on removable inner doors
• Pre-punched to the exact millimeter, allowing precise component mounting
• MCC Configuration includes a main incomer section, internal distribution board, and five motor starter cubicles.
