INDIGENOUS PLANTS are your best choice when building the main framework of your garden (such as trees & shrubs).

Not only because they have evolved to adapt to their local environment, but also because these indigenous plants have developed a symbiotic relationship with many of the insects, birds and other animals over a long period of time.

In addition, making use of local plants in your garden reduces the amount of water you will need to maintain and keep your garden beautiful.

A LOCAL favourite!!

The Tecoma capensis, better known as the CAPE HONEYSUCKLE, is a species of flowering plant which is indigenous to Southern Africa.

It’s flowering time is very erratic and often flowers all year round, making it a must have for every garden!

It has compound, glossy leaves that form oval leaflets with blunt teeth. The flowers form many tubular, trumpet shaped heads which vary in colour from red, orange, yellow, to salmon.

The Honeysuckle is a fast growing, evergreen shrub which may grow up to 2.3m tall and 2.5m wide. This perennial is commonly used as a focal point to introduce wonderful colours to a garden. It can also be trimmed and used to form a beautiful hedge.

Low maintenance gardens usually include succulents. During this winter months a lot of people are unsure about how much water their succulents need.

Cutting back on water and fertilizer is a cardinal rule in this type of conditions, especially if your succulents are in the shade.

The best way to tell when it’s time to water them is when the soil is dried out and the leaves look slightly wrinkled.

Plants don’t need food when they go dormant. Be sure to get your feeding done before temperatures drop. Too much fertilizer can lead to soft leaves that can rot and fall off, so cutting back on fertilizer is a good rule of thumb.

De Kleine Loerie

Wow!!

They say “a picture is worth a thousand words”… Well as sure as eggs is eggs, this picture is worth every word. And it certainly speaks for itself.

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to work on this exciting project with the amazing group of people

Now the toughest challenge of course, was to envision something worthy for the already spectacular bakery it’s so well known for.

Luckily our team kept their creative juices flowing with their yellow cupped cappuccino’s, and created these beautiful rock gardens with striking aloes from our wonderful garden route region.

All for the purpose to invite their lovely guests just as we did with nature, and give them a breathtaking scenery to enjoy.

Our greenery creates happy scenery!! 😁
