Meet the tiny drama queens of the succulent world…
Fresh in and ready to steal the spotlight, my new batch of Lithops and Pleiospilos have officially arrived—and they’re bringing personality in very small packages.
At first glance, you might think someone’s scattered pebbles in the pots… but look closer. These little masters of disguise are actually living plants, perfectly evolved to blend into their surroundings and avoid becoming lunch in the wild. Sneaky? Absolutely. Adorable? Even more so.
Lithops are the ultimate minimalists—just two plump leaves, a slit down the middle, and an annual surprise flower that pops out like nature’s version of a magic trick. They thrive on neglect (finally, a plant that understands busy people), asking only for sunshine and a very restrained watering schedule.
Pleiospilos, also known as “split rocks,” are the slightly chunkier cousins with a bit more attitude. Their thick, speckled leaves look like they’ve been hand-painted, and when they bloom, they produce bold, daisy-like flowers that are completely disproportionate to their size—because subtlety is overrated.
Perfect for collectors, curious gardeners, or anyone who has ever said, “I love plants but I tend to love them a bit too much” (these ones prefer boundaries).
⚠️ Warning: Side effects may include staring at your pots wondering if they’ve moved, and an unexpected urge to collect just one more.
Pop in and choose your favourite little impostor before they quietly disappear… (they’re very good at that). Succulent Gems KZN uMngeni Tourism Nottingham Road Tourism
