Dr Kaggwa made a presentation on economic diversification as a key intervention to ensure justness in the energy transition at the PCC organized High Level Policy Dialogue in Witbank. He said that, from a workers perspective, economic diversification remains a necessary but not a sufficient condition for just energy transition in South Africa.
He added that the likelihood of economic diversification to contribute significantly on just energy transition was dependent on timing, scale, sequencing, resources and review mechanism of activities thereof.
