The Electrical Conformance Board of SA was established as an NGO by government and industry to be an umbrella organization for the electrical sector.

The ECB SA's purpose, is to ensure best practice principals coupled with high standards to maintain continuous professional development within the Electrical Construction and Installation industry in its broadest sense.We continue to work with the Regulators, Industry and the consumer.

The ECB invites interested parties to its annual Conformance Week taking place in Durban, from the 8th to the 10th of September 2026.
The three-day seminar will focus on important developments affecting electrical practitioners, including updates to SANS 10142-1, regulatory changes and what these changes mean in practice.
It’s an opportunity to stay informed, strengthen technical knowledge and keep up with developments shaping the electrical industry.
Date: 8–10 September 2026
Venue: ARB, 10 Mack Rd, Prospecton, Durban.

The ECB's annual Conformance Week has been developed to provide electrical professionals with practical updates on developments affecting the industry and their day-to-day work.

SANS 0142-1 Edition 3.3 has officially been released.
