🚨 ACCIDENT REPORT – HERITAGE MALL

📅 24 August 2026

A head-on collision involving a white Toyota Quantum and a silver Ford Ranger was reported at Heritage Mall.

According to information received, the Quantum was allegedly travelling in the wrong direction while attempting to take a shortcut, resulting in the collision.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and both drivers were assessed and confirmed to be okay.

⚠️ The incident has been noted for further investigation by the relevant authorities.

Our reaction officer ensured the site was safe until SAPS arrived.Well done!

🚨 FIRE ALERT – UITKOMS 🚨

We were alerted to a possible house fire in Uitkoms. Upon arrival, our reaction team observed that a heap of tyres was burning, rather than a house.

🔥 Our reaction team is currently on scene, together with Gamagara Fire & Rescue, who are dealing with the situation.

⚠️ Please give the emergency teams space to work and avoid approaching the area unnecessarily.

We will provide further information as it becomes available.

Last night, while conducting routine patrols in Postmasburg, one of our Reaction Officers came across a suspicious individual pushing a refrigerator.

When the officer approached the suspect to investigate, the suspect suddenly produced a panga and a knife** and attempted to attack our officer. Fortunately, our officer was able to avoid injury and the situation was handled safely.

Our officer was able to trace the suspect's movements and locate the property where the break-in had occurred. The suspect had gained access by removing one of the electric fence poles, creating a weakened section of the fence which he used to climb over.

The stolen refrigerator was successfully recovered, and the owners of the premises were contacted and informed of the incident.

This incident is a stark reminder of how quickly a seemingly routine situation can become dangerous.

🚨 We urge the public: Do not confront suspicious individuals yourself.

Your safety comes first. If you notice suspicious activity, contact your local security company or the SAPS immediately and allow trained professionals to respond.

Incident Report – Smoke Complaint | Tieroog Street, Kathu

Rhino Security was alerted to reports of smoke in the vicinity of Tieroog Street, Kathu.

Our Reaction Officer, Lourens, responded immediately to investigate the source of the smoke. Upon arrival, he found an individual burning tyres, creating excessive smoke and posing a potential health and fire hazard.

The individual was instructed to extinguish the fire immediately, and the situation was brought under control without further incident.

⚠️ COMMUNITY SAFETY NOTICE – STAY VIGILANT ⚠️

This knife was confiscated this morning from a known troublemaker in Kathu who has allegedly been involved in housebreaking and other petty crimes.

This serves as an important reminder to our community to remain vigilant at all times, especially during the evening and early morning hours.

If possible, avoid travelling alone late at night. Where practical, travel together or let someone know your route and expected arrival time. Keep an eye on your surroundings and report any suspicious behaviour to the relevant authorities or your neighbourhood watch.

Most importantly: Do not engage or confront suspected criminals or troublemakers. No cellphone, wallet, or vehicle is worth risking your life. Your role is to observe, stay safe, and report—leave the confrontation to law enforcement and trained security personnel.
