Getting to the " Root " of the problem.

Specialized Pipe Solutions was called to assist and diagnose why the sewer line kept on blocking.
After conducting a cctv camera inspection on the sewer line, we found the problem to be root infiltration.
The roots were successfully removed using our specialised cleaning equipment and high pressure jetting machine. The problem area was rehabilitated using our CIPP pipe relining system leaving the customer with flowing sewer lines

Root intrusion has a massive impact on the effectiveness of sewer lines .
SPS was approached at the start of 2026 to conduct a CCTV inspection on all the sewer lines at a facility in JHB before everyone got back to the office for the start of the new year.
We found excessive root intrusion on most of the sewer lines. After the inspection , we started with the cleaning process using special cleaning equipment and high pressure jetting.
All the roots were removed and the sewer lines are flowing freely

Next step - Relining the defective joint using our Non destructive CIPP pipe relining system

With 2026 in full swing and most people back to work , we would like to wish everyone a prosperous new year.

That being said, sewer and stormwater pipes did not get the deserving holiday break , especially with all the rain we have encountered over the past month.

As much as rain is needed, it can also be the cause of severe damage to our properties and buildings.
With aging infrastructure , stormwater downpipes corrode, they crack and can even break over time. This can lead to water damage when it is least expected.
A cctv inspection was conducted at one of our clients properties. We found the downpipes the be badly corroded and multiple cracks found inside the pipes.
We successfully removed the rust and scale build-up. To avoid further damage to the building , SPS re-lined the damaged and corroded pipes , leaving the client stress free for the rest of the rainy season

Shutting down a kitchen due to blocked floor drains is not always possible. This can lead to large amounts of money being lost to the owner as the kitchen can not operate fully.
SPS was called to assist and unblock this busy kitchens floor drains. Once unblocked , we found the the pipes where badly corroded .
We manage to reline the defective pipe without the kitchen losing any operating hours and letting the business run smoothly

While normal unblocking services solves the current problem, the blockage is bound to return without the proper diagnosis.

Preventative Maintenance starts in-house
Fat build-up is a major cause for blockages in drain lines. That's because liquid oils or fats are easy to pour down the drain but solidify as they move through the pipes. Over time, this can cause a build-up of solidified grease along the pipe walls that eventually results in a blockage .

SPS was called to assist and assess why our client was experiencing constant blockages in their drain lines.
After CCTV camera inspection , we found the lines to be clogged with solidified fat.
The SPS team managed to clean the lines and remove all the fat, leaving the client happy with no unwanted headaches

SPS is proud to announce a new division under the SPS brand. Although some areas will overlap with our current CCTV services, Pipe Inspect 's main focus is Condition assessment and CCTV inspections on older as well as newly installed sewer and stormwater pipes.
Equipment will vary from normal push cameras for smaller pipes and a Robotic Crawler for larger pipe diameters.
Pipe diameters will range from 50mm up to 2000mm pipes.
Our report will also include the Inclination or Fall of the pipes , which will help contractors and engineers on existing and new construction sites.
This is a huge step for the SPS and Pipe Inspect team .
