✅ Top 5 Hijacking Prevention Tips
1. Be Alert in Your Driveway
Pause briefly before turning in or out. Keep your engine running and check your mirrors for anyone following you.
2. Maintain Space at Intersections
Leave at least half a car’s length in front of you-this gives you an escape route if something seems off.
3. Avoid Predictable Routines
Vary your routes and drop-off times when possible. Criminals often observe targets over several days.
4. Watch Out for Fake Police (Blue Light Gangs)
If you’re pulled over by an unmarked vehicle, drive to the nearest police station or well-lit public area before stopping.
5. Use Dual Tracking & Panic Services
Install both passive and active tracking systems. Services like Tracker, Cartrack, and Netstar increase recovery success dramatically.
📢 Awareness = Prevention
While vehicle hijackings are a reality in South Africa, knowing where and when you're most vulnerable, combined with simple prevention habits, can drastically reduce your risk!
Don’t wait until it’s too late - share these tips with your family, drivers, or staff, and stay alert. Your safety is worth the extra caution.
