This post is just one of multiple ways that we’ll be putting this dream project out there over the next while. 🌿

Obviously, we won’t be share exact plans and details publicly but only with specific parties that are interested in working with us.

There are SO many people and companies that have *plenty* of money at their disposal- and if just a fraction of that can be channeled toward regenerative agriculture - then that’s a major win for all!

Just has temporary roofing while we look for something suitable: metal sheeting is a bit sharp for Lilith to be around,
we have a piece of of fibreglass sheeting but want to paint it,
varnished wood would be nice but Bruce says we don’t have enough wood left.

We’ll figure it out later today. 💪🏼

I scheduled our funding post on Thursday (for today) and I’ve been so nervous about it since then!

Because people get offended but that sort of thing - everyone loves to see a “we built it all ourselves” story and requests for funding are often seen as a way to circumvent hard work.

But that’s REALLY not the case here - what we’re doing is hard work right now and what we’re trying to get funding for will be even harder work, we’re just trying to get there quicker so that we can help more people sooner!

Because it has ALWAYS been our goal to inspire and teach as many people as possible to grow and raise their own food - that vision has just grown bigger and more complex over the years. We’re not interested in “self-sufficiency”, we’re interested in a mycelial network of small farmers.

But if we keep slogging away until we’re 60 to do it ourselves - I’m not sure how much energy we’ll have left to put into the project.

That being said - if we fail to get funding, we will indeed keep slogging away.

Did you know that Bruce worked as part of a team doing controlled burns for firebreaks years ago?

He’s qualified in first aid, hole digging and as an electrician.

He’s done advanced driving courses and firefighting.

He can drive a tractor, brushcut, install and fix fencing, carpentry, plumbing, basic building and maintenance.

He can change tires, do a service on the car and change break pads.

He has studied Permaculture, adaptive grazing and regenerative agriculture and implemented them too.

He can inject a cow, get a calf to drink and has saved many of my lambs (and an ewe) from choking!

He knows how to slaughter, pluck and dress ducks and chickens and cooks the best egg-fried rice!

Bruce can do so much, and is super willing to upskill on what he doesn’t know.

I couldn’t think of a better person to be starting a farm with! 💪🏼❤️

Skills are the currency we’re rich in.
