Another example of how easily an electrical fire can start. We had to re-do most of the DB. The cause of the hot spot was a loose connection and no protection on an underrated cable. The clients entire factory was at risk due to contractors taking short cuts. Thankfully this happened during office hours. A handy tip to reduce replacement costs is to have a CO2 extinguisher near your main DB not a DCP.

A loose connection in a kiosk started a fire in one of the complex kiosks in Waterfall today. If you ever experience a electrical fire do not use water, you must use a CO2 or dry powder extinguisher. Loose connections are one of the leading causes of electrical fires. Home owners should have there DB's serviced at least once if not twice a year. Temperature changes causes copper to expand and contract which over time can create loose connections.

Rowley Electrical was founded in 1970 by Rowley Saunders. This company has always been diverse enough to tackle industrial, domestic and commercial electrical projects. We have become specialists over the past 15 years with regard to electrical installations for petrol service stations. We have to date completed approximately 96 service stations for Engen, XL, Sasol, Total and Shell. Recent Service Stations completed are Polo Pony Assagay, Engen Hibberdene, B P Watercrest, Sasol King Shaka, Engen Otto Volek New Germany. To name a few other projects Athlone Park Shopping Centre, Link Hills Shopping Centre Waterfall. Bathroom Bizarre, maintenance at Link Hills Shopping Centre and the list goes on.

We view each project as a team event trying to establish good working relationship with all parties concerned, this attitude in our experience results in a good working environment, good quality of work and most importantly meeting the client’s deadlines.

Whilst we have never restricted growth in the company we have ensured the retention of old school work values. This approach together with the use of new and innovative work methods and materials has enabled us to maintain a steady growth in our onsite performance. We strive to constantly improve our installations, and hence we have on many occasions assisted design teams with practical improvements to the design, and implementation of installations.

Quality control on and off site is of paramount importance and is rigorously and permanently enforced. A result of this is the ability to consistently complete projects which are neat, orderly and electrically compliant. As with quality control, safety control and management is of the utmost importance. Workers and individual’s safety has become the highest priority in the business and will continue to be so. A huge amount of time and resources are dedicated to instilling a culture of “Safety First” in each employee of Rowley Electrical.

Rowley Electrical is currently directed and owned by Kevin Berndt who is passionate about all the above mentioned values.
