Piling , the base foundation of Venice (timber) and the world’s tallest building :
The Burj Khalifa uses a piled-raft foundation—a massive reinforced-concrete raft combined with deep bored piles.

Foundation arrangement

* Reinforced-concrete raft: approximately 3.7 m thick
* Piles: 192 bored reinforced-concrete piles
* Pile diameter: approximately 1.5 m
* Pile length: about 43 m
* Foundation concrete: roughly 45,000 m³
* Combined foundation mass: more than 110,000 tonnes
