Moving on to sections within our series.

What is the importance of cross sections or sectional views on a plan?

The reason sections are important in regards to the plan. Is because sections contain construction details such as the structures height and the building materials utilised for said structure.

They provide clarity for the contractor in regards to what the architect and client have envisioned. Cross sections also give the structural engineer enough information to form decisive and accurate calculations pertaining to the structural rigidity of your architects design and plan as the client.

One could even state that sections hold the secret sauce to making it all happen.

Let's discuss floor plans next.

The point of floor plans or floor plan layouts to be more specific, is to give the contractor a clear line of instructions in terms of all the construction parameters.

This means that all the details and measurements pertaining to how each room should be built and where they should be built will be clearly represented here. So that you, being the client actually get an end product that is satisfactory to you. Hence when one is within the designing phase with their architect. It is of the utmost importance to clearly state the out come they would like to see from their vision.

One could even say ones architect is their medium to achieving what they truly want in this regard.

Side note, we are aware that, that one is on the south side. Somewhat of an inside faculty of professionals joke. Kindly ignore the A.I's legend as well. Laughs.

Let us discuss elevations next.

What is the purpose of elevations on a plan? The purpose of elevations is to give a clear indication of how yourself, being the client and your architect have decided to capture the appearance of your vision.

In other words, some tend to be impervious to the fact that structures have facades. One could even say that buildings have faces. As such, when one is looking at the elevations on their plan. They are looking at the different faces their building has. From four different points of perception.

Said points of perception grant a complete understanding of what has been predetermined to be built.

We will begin with site plans.

What is the purpose of a site plan and is it necessary architecturally speaking?

The purpose of a site plan is to indicate the area that the structure is to be erected on accurately. The whole premise of this is to stick within zoning and building codes that are imposed by each respected council by law. It is a way to ensure that the contractor can find their bearings as well in regards to the buildings placement.

One could say it is somewhat of a site development plan from ones architects’ perspective.

It also indicates how ones black water and grey water should and will be treated as it is expelled from the building through all the water features that will be affixed through the construction of said structure.

The site plan is an overall representation of what is to take place once vision is ready to be transmuted into reality.

We hope this post has explained what one is actually looking at on their plan.

Within the greater faculty of architecture. Contemporary has taken hold. It's as if all the other means of architectural expression. All the other means of architectural design as a language have taken a back seat.

As such we have decided to somewhat show case the beauty of Modern classic design once more.

Here we have a residential concept. A pergola has been incorporated into it with distinct archways as part of the pool area to somewhat give the design a asymmetrical feel to it.
