This morning while doing random patrols in the residential area, a suspect was spotted dragging Telkom cable in the Norwin street area. As the armed response unit approached him, he dropped everything and ran to the bottom part of the street and dissapeared in the vlei area.

Cable was retrieved and measured at about 100m. Cable has been handed in at White River SAPS.

"You can't change a stray dog's past, but you can rewrite its future."........exactly what we did this morning. For the last month, a stray dog was noticed running up and down the main road everyday in search of food. Petrified to come close to any humans. Two good hearted samaritans noticed the dog as well and noticed that the dog recently had puppies. They started searching and found the 8 puppies, probably 1 month old hidden in an old burned out tree safe from all the elements. So the mission started to get mommy and her babies to a shelter where they would be looked after and finally be adopted and taken to their forever homes.

Yesterday we placed a trap at the same area where the pups were found, with enough water and food. The whole night we went back to see if mommy was with her babies but everytime she saw us she ran away. This morning we were lucky and mom was in the cage with the pups. Trap door lowered and mommy and pups were finally rescued. Thank you to Prolife for taking the dogs in to ensure they have a brighter future than the one they have experienced for the last month.

Special thank you to Mr Pretorius, Mrs Pretorius and your little girl for not giving up the last month and ensuring that we had a happy ending. You guys are Superheroes!!!!

Random patrols in the Theo Kleynhans street area again delivered results. A suspect was spotted carrying a bag that was too heavy for one person to carry. When the suspect noticed that our eyes were on him, he tried to evade us but did not succeed. Upon searching the bag, burned copper wire was found. A grey container was also spotted and the suspect tried to get our attention away from it. We searched, and found a large amount of live huntig rifle ammunition inside.

Suspect was immediately placed under arrest and was handed over to White River K9 unit for further investigation.

Thank you to everyone that assisted when the call for back up was made.

Another long weekend, and once again our teams are out there—side by side with SAPS—facing the harsh realities many never see. From dealing with intoxicated individuals causing disruption, to breaking up fights and responding to crime, the challenges are constant and demanding.

While most are at home, relaxing with family or watching TV, these dedicated White River men and women are on duty—sacrificing their comfort to keep our community safe.

The truth is, their efforts often go unnoticed, and at times, even met with disrespect.

It’s time we change that.

Let’s come together as a community. Let’s stand united, support one another, and show appreciation for those who put their lives on the line every day.

Safety is a shared responsibility—we all have a role to play.

Salute to all our crime-fighting partners. Your commitment does not go unseen. 👏

Black water defence they respond and arrest and recover stolen goods. Even if you are not their client. They protect and serve the entire white river community. No other busines has ever done what they do on a daily basis for our town. Instead of sitting behind computers waiting for mails to come in.....they act before anyting happens. They are the true heroes of our town. Silent crime killers. White River must start recognizing this team. Smallest company in town but they do the most. If you see them drive around they are following up on information to protect our town. They do not stand around and look after trees. You guys are the heroes of White River!

This past weekend, Blackwater responded alongside SAPS to a domestic violence call. Sadly, incidents like this are becoming more common in our community.
Security can step in during emergencies to protect life and limb—but lasting protection starts with speaking up. You don’t have to face abuse alone. The Family Court is there to help you, and getting protection does not require thousands of rands.
Abuse leaves deep psychological scars that can last a lifetime. There is support available, and there are people who care about your safety.
