Lost Water is Lost Money.
Improve Your Water Management.

non-revenue-water-infographic-cropped
Check out this infographic that highlights solutions for improving water sustainability and reducing non-revenue water loss.

We know you’re focused on preventing non-revenue water (NRW) loss and closing the gap between the volume of water you produce and the water you bill your customers each month. Non-revenue water loss can quickly add up. In fact, NRW can amount to between 20 percent and 30 percent of the total water distributed in South Africa.

The sources of non-revenue water loss include:
•Leaks
•Theft & tampering
•Unbilled consumption & meter inaccuracy
•Unmetered consumption

We all agree it’s no longer acceptable to lose billions of gallons of water each year from non-revenue water because it can have a serious impact on your operational expenses. We work with thousands of utilities just like you to identify the source of the lost non-revenue water and also provide a solution to fix the problem.

We have a good solution at The Queue to reduce your water loss.

Rainfall over the past two weeks in KwaZulu-Natal slightly helped to raise some dam levels in major dams across the provincial system. The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) for the 12 and 24 month period from July 2013 to June 2016 indicates that large areas of KwaZulu-Natal are still experiencing severe drought conditions. The trend in the SPI shows that despite the rains received over the past two weeks, the drought is continuing unabated.A total of 128 mm rain has been recorded at the Hazelmere Dam and the level as of 4 August 2016 is 53.09 %, an increase of 8.07%. A total of 279 mm of rain was recorded in the Merebank area south of Durban. The Umzinto Dam is currently at 100.12%, whilst EJ Smith is at 100.46%Goedertrouw Dam is currently at 18.33% compared to 39.09 at this time last year. The emergency pumping scheme from the Tugela River continues to be utilized and the project to double the capacity of the transfer has been approved for implementation. In the meantime restrictions continue to be implemented in the area.

Well done Minister Mokonyane!!!

We are committing ourselves to fundamentally transforming the sector and ensuring that our people do not solely benefit as tap openers but play a meaningful role. Together with our Entities and Boards, we will:

• Invest in skilling, especially young people so that they play a meaningful role in the building of dams and the delivery of sanitation infrastructure
• Create an enabling environment for job opportunities for the historically excluded and vulnerable groups
• Ensure equitable water allocation and availability for socio-economic development.
• Target rural development initiatives that support small holder farmers
• Support small, medium and micro enterprises in the sector

Let's be water wise and Happy youth month.
