This morning, one of our clients was the victim of an attempted hijacking and was robbed at gunpoint.

Our team responded immediately upon receiving the alert. While staying with the client at the scene, we conducted a search and successfully recovered the stolen car keys. It appears the suspects ditched the keys after realizing our team was not leaving the scene.
The client is safe and unharmed.

Yesterday, at Du Toit Street, our team demonstrated excellent coordination and attention to detail.

Control received a call from the client reporting an unknown male on the premises. P08 and P05 immediately made contact with the client, gathered further information, and obtained a photo of the suspicious individual.

P08 soon spotted a person matching the description. Upon approach and confrontation by P08 and P05, it was noted that the suspect had changed his jacket. However, the exact jacket visible in the client's photo was still in his possession which is clear evidence linking him to the initial report.

P02 and P07 responded swiftly and gave Code 11. Control notified SAPS, who attended the scene promptly. The client opened a case, and the suspect was taken into custody for trespassing.

Well done to P08, P05, P02, and P07 for your sharp observation, teamwork, and professional handling of the situation. This is exactly why clients trust Vetus Schola.

Yesterday, Vetus Schola Paarl was alerted to a vehicle suspected of being involved in a business robbery.

The vehicle activated our tracking system and was later located near a shopping centre in Paarl.

Acting swiftly on the information, members of the South African Police Service strategically positioned themselves in the area. When the suspects attempted to flee, the vehicle was successfully pulled over. The suspects were detained on the scene.

We commend SAPS for their professional and efficient response.

This is another example of what can be achieved through effective collaboration between community safety structures and the police.

On Tuesday 19 May 2026, our members once again proved why visible policing and rapid response make a real difference in Paarl.

While on patrol in Septimus Street, PO8 spotted a suspicious vehicle with three occupants. One of the suspects was in the act of stealing wheel caps off a parked Nissan NP200. PO8 immediately alerted the control room and PO5, and a vehicle chase began.

PO7 and PO2 joined the pursuit without hesitation as the suspects tried to flee through the streets of Paarl. During the chase, PO5 spotted a Boland POP vehicle at the robot in Optenhorst Street and called for urgent SAPS assistance. Despite the suspects driving recklessly and endangering other road users, our members stayed on them with excellent coordination.

The chase ended in Skool Street, where the suspect vehicle was successfully boxed in. All three suspects were arrested on scene by SAPS members, and their vehicle was booked in.

This was a textbook example of fast response, teamwork, and excellent cooperation between Vetus Schola patrols and SAPS.

On 18 May, a vehicle triggered an alert wanted for fuel theft in Paarl Central. The alert was posted to the relevant Telegram channel. The NAVIC manager contacted Vetus Schola Paarl Manager and informed him of the sought motor vehicle in the area. The team proceeded to the vehicle’s last known location.

On their way, Paarl Police K-9 Unit and Winelands Flying Squad were contacted for assistance.

At approximately 3:48pm, the vehicle was stopped by the Flying Squad and Vetus Schola Armed response members.

Three male occupants were found in the vehicle. SAPS members communicated with the Investigating Officer from Swellendam and all three suspects were detained.

The vehicle and suspects were taken to Paarl SAPS for processing and further investigation.

Excellent work to all involved. From the rapid alert and response by our members, to the outstanding cooperation between Navic Cloud, Vetus Schola Paarl, Paarl SAPS K9 and the Winelands Flying Squad.

This is community-police partnership at its best. Stay alert and keep reporting suspicious activity!
