We understand the temptation to “just get it connected” while cupboards are being installed. It feels efficient, convenient, and harmless.
However, electrical work is one of those areas where shortcuts quietly become risks.
Cupboard installers are not licensed electricians, which means any electrical connection they do is non-compliant, unsafe, and not covered by law. Even if the oven appears to work perfectly, the installation does not meet SANS regulations and cannot be issued with a Certificate of Compliance.
This has real consequences:
-Your oven warranty falls away immediately if it’s not installed by a qualified electrician
-Insurance claims can be rejected in the event of an electrical fault or fire
-Hidden wiring issues may only surface months later, when damage is already done
At Highway Electrical, we don’t see this as being difficult or pedantic. We see it as protecting your home, your family, and the investment you’ve made in your appliances.
Electrical work isn’t about who can do it fastest.
It’s about who is legally allowed to do it safely and correctly.
