MMK Architects were appointed to undertake alterations to this historic building in 1989 and again in 1999, converting it from a residential home into an art gallery. Opened in 2000 as the Ron Belling Gallery, the space was named after the acclaimed artist whose collection formed the core of the gallery’s exhibition. Every intervention was carefully designed to respect and extend the original architecture, preserving its unique curves and defining architectural character.
