SCA’s History
SCA Construction is a business located in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, but has its roots stemming from the beautiful island of Sicily, Italy. Santo Ciaravino, a young and able Italian with a vast array of building experience and knowledge ventured to South Africa to help build the developing country and build a better life for his family. In order to become accustomed to the working ways of his adopted country, Santo joined Indibano Construction in 2000 and gained valuable experience in South Africa’s concrete and construction industry. While working there, they completed a number of jobs together including the construction of the hospital in George, various schools in the Western Cape and multiple residential projects in Pezula and Thesen Island.
After three years, Santo decided to fulfill his dream of starting his own business and in 2003; SCA was born. To begin, the whole of SCA was composed of just four workers, all of whom are still currently working for the business. Through this loyalty and hard-work, SCA has been able to grow consistently into the business it has become today.
In 2006, Pierfrancecsco Ciaravino, Santo’s son, joined the business bringing a vibrant, youthful and dynamic energy to the workplace. After years of experience and guidance from his father, Pierfrancesco started to take on more of a leadership role within the business and has helped SCA modernize and grow into one of Port Elizabeth's finest construction companies.
SCA has continued to expand, adding the “SCA Plumbing” division to the business at the start of 2020. Even through this consistent growth of the business, SCA has remained true to their vision of always delivering the best quality to meet and exceed their customers expectations!
