The Proteas started brilliantly against the Aussies at Newlands, racing to 140 without losing a wicket at lunch and looking set for a 400-plus total. But the runs dried up, four batters recorded ducks (including captain Temba Bavuma), and Mitchell Starc tore through the lower order with six wickets!

South Africa finished on 329, leaving us hoping the boys can bounce back and show the Aussies what we're made of!

From ducks on the cricket field to a king on the football throne! Harry Kane has claimed the prestigious 2026 Ballon d'Or after an incredible season, scoring 73 goals in 65 games for club and country. Congratulations, King Kane!

The Proteas served up a few too many ducks, while King Kane showed everyone how to keep scoring! In sport, you can't always avoid a duck, but there's always another chance to hit it for six!

𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘆?
𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱

Well, well, well! Yesterday, when we encouraged everyone to get out there and vote, reminding you that “It’s your choice”, the DA decided to get in on the action and stick a few election posters on our board!

Now, here at Webster’s Flooring, we’re all for a bit of humour, and with election week upon us, we certainly aren’t going to turn down a good laugh. So, thank you, DA, for adding a little extra colour to our campaign! We took it in good spirits and reckon it’s all on board.

But jokes aside, your vote is your voice. Metropolitan voting is underway, so make sure you use it wisely. Choose the people you believe can deliver the results our beautiful Bay needs.

After all, there’s plenty of room for political posters, but when it comes to the ballot box, the choice is yours!

It's your choice! With the local government elections approaching on 4 November, it's time to look beyond the campaign posters and promises and ask the important question: What return have we actually received for our rates? From water and sanitation to roads, refuse removal and financial accountability, Nelson Mandela Bay residents deserve services that match what they pay for. As The Herald's articles rightly remind us, voter apathy won't fix our problems, and accountability starts with us. So do your homework, check the track record, and make your vote count. After all, choosing who runs our city is just as important as choosing who lays your floors!

Starting tomorrow! The stage is set at Newlands as the Proteas face Australia in the deciding Test, starting Tuesday. After a disappointing defeat in Durban, our boys bounced back spectacularly in Gqeberha, winning by an innings and 31 runs to level the series at 1–1. Simon Harmer has praised the team's fighting spirit, and now it's time to bring that same determination to Cape Town. The Aussies won't make it easy, but we've seen what happens when the Proteas find their rhythm! Let's get behind our boys and roar them home!

What a week for South African cricket! The Proteas turned dominance into a statement victory at St George’s Park, crushing Australia by an innings and 31 runs in a rain-affected second Test. With Rabada, Jansen and the boys firing on all cylinders, the Aussies were left with more questions than answers! Now let’s carry that winning momentum to Cape Town and show them the Proteas are ready to keep the pressure on!

And while the cricket is reaching world-championship levels, there’s exciting news closer to home too! Addo Elephant National Park is getting a whopping R136.5 million upgrade, with new accommodation, a spa and improvements to its facilities to make our Eastern Cape gem shine even brighter. From St George’s Park to Addo, it seems the Bay is raising the bar all round!

There’s nothing like a bit of Protea fire to get the Bay buzzing! Marco Jansen has been on a mission at St George’s Park, ripping through the Aussies with a brilliant five-wicket haul to help bowl Australia out for just 99 in their first innings. Talk about bringing the heat!

The Proteas have put themselves in a commanding position, but the job isn’t quite done yet. Six more wickets stand between South Africa and a massive victory — and with the weather threatening to play spoilsport, every ball counts.

There is time, there is hope, and there’s certainly a whole lot of Marco on fire! And if the rain can just stay away, the Aussies might find there’s no time left to put out the fire!
