Architecture is often a collection of memories. 🌏✨

The tiered levels at Wading Waters were inspired by the ancient stepwells Niel and Ashleigh encountered in India years ago. We translated those historic, rhythmic stone levels into a modern concrete landscape that leads directly down into the canals, blurring the line between the built form and the water.

A modern nod to an ancient marvel, designed for slow afternoons.

From site visit to sketch. Capturing the light we love so much and that makes this corner of Voëlklip so iconic.

There is a rugged, timeless quality to the Hermanus coastline, but it’s the specific way the sun hits the mountainside here that defines the spirit of the site. This sketch is an attempt to translate that atmosphere into lines and layers.

The Art of Lingering.

From morning light filtering softly through linen,
to quiet corners made for slow afternoons,
Wading Waters is more than a residence, it’s a rhythm.

Tucked along the St Francis Bay canals,
this space was shaped to echo the stillness of the water.

Breathing new life into an existing footprint. 🏗️✨

A deep dive into the renovation process, balancing environmental elements and optimizing spatial flow to turn an existing house into a forever home.

Refining the old to create the new.

On site at Slieve Donard. ✍️🏗️

Slieve Donard is more than just a project for us, it’s a labor of love for close friends. Our design focuses on a new kitchen and entertainment wing that honors the soul of the original heritage home while inviting the outside in.

By opening up to the North, we’ve captured the poolside sun, while the Eastern facade now frames those incredible expansive views. It’s about creating a space where old memories meet new beginnings.

From a single line to a sanctuary. ✍️🏠

We believe the soul of a house is born in these early sketches. This concept, located on a striking site between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, explores the tension between a heavy, grounded base and the rest of the structure floating lightly above the landscape.

Seeing the volume take shape is where the magic happens. ⛰️📐

Salt air, sculpted concrete, and a whisky collection that deserves its own room. Wading Waters, coastal living, thoughtfully put together. 🌊🥃

As the sun drops at La Ser, the room changes.

Soft curves catch the last light, and the fire quietly takes over — turning the space into a place to gather, pause, and unwind.

Architecture is not only about form, but about the moments it creates.

Architecture often begins long before drawings become buildings.

For Eastcot on the Kromme River, the process started with sketches, exploring how the house could lightly touch the landscape while opening itself to the river and surrounding trees.

A long, elevated home stretches across the site, framing views, capturing sunlight, and creating a calm sequence of spaces connected to the terrain.

These early drawings capture the thinking behind the architecture, testing structure, light, movement, and the experience of arriving at the home.

From sketch to place.
